I haven’t posted a review in a while, but for this book I can’t ignore not posting one.
I finished this couple of days ago and I’m still not over it. I will never be over this book. Ever.
Even though I have no words to describe the feelings I have for this book, I’m going to try to write something decent.
I was dying to read this book. I prepaid this book and went running on release day to the bookstore (also my workplace) to start reading it. First of all, it’s worth the reading and pain. Yes, this book made me suffer in the most inhuman ways for a book to do. I’m not going to sugar coat this. You know how Jay Kristoff used for promo the hashtag “#stabstabstab”? Well, that’s basically what this book will do to your heart.
Mia is my new favorite female lead. She’s left handed and that completely got me into her. I could imagine myself being her better, and wow! All the choices she makes through the book are just what I was thinking I would do. I felt so proud for her and connected to her in so many ways.
The first pages of the books were slow, but not to the point to stop reading. I read that some people couldn’t handle the writing style and DNF it. This is not a book for teens. It doesn’t have simple descriptions. Somethings will be difficult to understand and that’s okay. KEEP READING. Don’t stop. I agree it takes time to get into it, but it’s world building and the author making you fall in love with the characters and then stab your heart. Jay Kristoff breaks your heart in terrible ways. I was feeling the book hangover before I finished the book.
I haven’t felt this way about a book in a while. Last time I felt like this with a book was last year with Six Of Crows. I am amazed with this story. I can’t wait for the sequel. I fell in love with the characters, besides Mia, and end up heart broken to no repair.
I am obsessed with this book. I can go all day talking about it and rereading my favorite scenes.
Bad side: I don’t want to read anything anymore.
This all I can say.
READ IT. READ IT !!!!
